Your data, clearly explained

Privacy Policy

Effective August 9, 2026 · Developer and data controller: Online Imperium, s.r.o.

The short version

Swipo has no developer-operated backend, analytics, or ads. Most data stays in your browser. A feature sends data only when it needs to communicate directly with Tinder, OpenAI, or Open-Meteo, as explained below.

Swipo - Tinder All-in-One Toolkit ("Swipo", "the extension") is a browser extension that adds inbox tools, AI-assisted message suggestions, location selection, profile organization, and games to Tinder's website. This policy explains what data the extension processes, where it goes, why it is used, and your choices.

1. Data processed by Swipo

Data stored locally in your browser

Swipo may store the following in Chrome's local extension storage:

  • your OpenAI API key and optional custom AI instructions;
  • selected and favorite locations, including city, region, country, latitude, and longitude;
  • Tinder conversation or profile identifiers used to associate saved data with the correct match;
  • whether a match is starred; and
  • cached Tinder profile information, which may include name as displayed by Tinder, biography, city, school, job, gender, alcohol preference, profile prompt answers, age, distance, profile photo URL, and cache timestamps.

The extension does not use Chrome Sync for this data. It stays in the local Chrome profile in which Swipo is installed. Swipo does not add its own encryption to Chrome's storage.

Tinder authentication and session data

While Tinder is open, Swipo reads the existing Tinder authentication token, persistent device identifier, language setting, and runtime session identifiers needed to make authenticated requests directly to Tinder on your behalf. These values are used in request headers and are not copied into Swipo's local extension storage or sent to the developer.

Conversation content

Swipo can read the currently open Tinder conversation to copy it or generate suggestions. Conversation text is not persistently stored by Swipo. Copying places it on your device's clipboard. Requesting AI suggestions sends the data listed in Section 2 directly to OpenAI.

Dating profiles and conversations may contain sensitive personal information. Use AI only when you are comfortable sending the relevant content to OpenAI and have a lawful basis to process the other participant's data.

Location data

When you choose a city, Swipo stores the city and coordinates, sends those coordinates to Tinder, and supplies them to Tinder's browser geolocation calls while the override is active. When you clear the city, Swipo may ask the browser for your current location and send it to Tinder to restore the browser location. Without an active override, Swipo may also check browser coordinates when Tinder starts, after returning to the tab, after connectivity is restored, and once per hour. Coordinates are sent to Tinder after a material move or as an hourly heartbeat. Location data is not sent to a developer-operated server.

Support communications

If you contact the developer, the developer receives what you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, message, and any attached diagnostics. It is used only to respond, troubleshoot, protect the extension, or comply with legal obligations. Swipo does not automatically collect crash reports or telemetry.

2. When data is sent to third parties

Tinder

Swipo communicates directly with api.gotinder.com using your active Tinder session. Depending on the feature, it may request your Tinder user ID, match profile details, or Likes You profiles, and may send selected or browser location coordinates. Tinder receives request data, authentication and device headers, your IP address, and normal network information. Tinder processes this under its Privacy Policy.

OpenAI

Nothing is sent to OpenAI until you provide your own API key and request AI message suggestions. That request sends directly to the OpenAI Responses API:

  • your OpenAI API key in the authorization header;
  • the match's displayed name and available profile details;
  • up to 80 messages from the currently open conversation;
  • your draft, intent, and optional custom instructions; and
  • a one-way SHA-256 hash of the Tinder conversation identifier as a pseudonymous safety identifier.

The request uses store: false. This does not override processing or retention required by OpenAI's policies, security practices, or your account settings. OpenAI may also receive your IP address. OpenAI processes the data under its Privacy Policy and applicable API terms. The developer does not receive your API key, prompt, conversation, or OpenAI response.

The official production build does not log the AI prompt. A developer debug build can log it locally in Chrome's extension service-worker console; do not use a debug build with content you do not want in that local console.

Open-Meteo

When you type at least two characters into a city search field, Swipo sends the search text to Open-Meteo's Geocoding API and receives matching place names and coordinates. Open-Meteo also receives normal request information such as your IP address. Selected coordinates are not sent back to Open-Meteo by Swipo. See Open-Meteo's Terms & Privacy.

3. Why the data is used

Swipo processes data only to provide or maintain features you request:

  • displaying, sorting, starring, and enriching Tinder matches;
  • generating suggestions after you invoke the AI tool;
  • copying a conversation to your clipboard;
  • selecting, saving, and applying a Tinder location;
  • displaying Tinder profile photos in the Pexeso game; and
  • securing, debugging, and supporting the extension.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the primary legal basis is performance of the service you request. Optional AI and location operations are initiated by your deliberate action. Support communications are processed to answer your request and for the developer's legitimate interest in maintaining and securing Swipo. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it by stopping the feature and deleting its locally stored data.

4. How data is shared

The developer does not sell or rent personal data and does not use it for advertising, unrelated profiling, creditworthiness, or data-broker purposes. Data is disclosed only:

  • to Tinder, OpenAI, or Open-Meteo when required for a feature;
  • when you choose to copy, export, or share it;
  • to providers involved in support communications, such as the developer's email provider; or
  • when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, rights, security, or the extension's integrity.

5. Retention and deletion

Local extension data remains in your Chrome profile until you replace or remove it, clear extension storage, reset the relevant setting, or uninstall Swipo. You can remove the OpenAI API key in Settings and clear a selected location from the location picker. Uninstalling normally removes the extension's local storage from that Chrome profile.

The developer cannot access or delete data held in your browser. Data sent to Tinder, OpenAI, or Open-Meteo is retained under that provider's policies and your account settings. Requests concerning that data must be directed to the relevant provider.

Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain a record, protect the extension, or meet legal obligations, and are then deleted or anonymized where appropriate.

6. Your choices and rights

You can:

  • avoid AI and omit or remove an OpenAI API key;
  • avoid location search and location override features;
  • remove saved settings or uninstall the extension;
  • manage Tinder and OpenAI data through those services; and
  • contact the developer to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection concerning personal data the developer actually holds.

Depending on your location, you may also have rights to portability, consent withdrawal, and a complaint to your data-protection authority. Because the developer does not receive data kept only in your browser or sent directly to third-party APIs, there may be no developer-held server record to provide or delete.

7. Security

Swipo uses HTTPS for Tinder, OpenAI, and Open-Meteo requests and limits data access to permissions declared in its manifest. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your Chrome profile, device, Tinder session, and OpenAI API key. Review diagnostics for personal data before sharing them.

8. Children

Swipo is intended only for people aged 18 or older and is not knowingly designed to collect data from children. Contact the developer if you believe a child provided personal data so it can be deleted.

9. International transfers

Tinder, OpenAI, Open-Meteo, Chrome, and email providers may process data outside your country. Their policies explain their transfer safeguards. Swipo does not operate a separate server that transfers extension data internationally.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may change when Swipo's functionality or legal obligations change. The updated version will state a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the extension, its store listing, or its project page when reasonably possible.
